LICENSED EMPLOYEES – ASSIGNMENT AND TRANSFER
Purpose: To provide guidelines for the assignment and transfer of certified personnel.
Policy: All assignments, reassignments and transfers, whether they are requested by the employee or initiated by the Administration, shall be made in accordance with the applicable terms of the negotiated master contract. However, the Board has the primary legal responsibility for providing the District’s educational program; therefore, the Board has the sole discretion of assigning and transferring employees, within the procedures of the current master contract.
The assignment or transfer of certified personnel shall be made upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.
Assignments shall be based on the needs of the District and the qualifications of the personnel being considered for the positions.
The students need and matching them to the personnel’s skills for success will be the single most important factor in determining final assignments.
An employee’s request for transfer shall be considered whenever the best interests of the District shall be served by the transfer.
The requirements stated in the Master Contract between employees in the certified collective bargaining unit and the board regarding assignment of such employees will be followed.
