Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year from the Anamosa Music Boosters!
The mission of the Anamosa Music Boosters is to support and enrich the music education experience for students in the Anamosa Community School District by encouraging excellence in music arts through leadership, collaboration, financial support, volunteer opportunities, community involvement, and technical assistance.
If you like music, you are a music booster. You do not have to have a child or grandchild in music. You do not have to apply or pay to be a booster. Attendance at the music boosters’ meetings is not required, but your presence would be appreciated.
The music boosters give students the opportunity to participate in music programs and expand their talents, music education and appreciation of music. This is accomplished throughout the year with the financial support and direct assistance from the boosters.
Over the years, the music boosters have provided funds for marching band uniforms, a sound system in the gym, band instruments (including a tuba and percussion), the Ellen Kennedy Fine Arts Center, color guard items, marching drill expenses, choir robes, show choir costumes, concert attire, music, choreography, college scholarships, a grand piano and risers, as well as many other needs.
Anamosa Music Boosters currently raise funds through school concession stands and special events. Special events this year will include the Sadie Street Showcase (our annual show choir competition), greenery sales, and Sounds and Sweets. Previous special events have included Raiders in Harmony and The Little Mermaid character breakfast.
The music boosters not only provide assistance to the choir, band, play, speech, and dance directors, they also help recruit volunteers. Volunteers are always welcome and necessary for chaperoning and providing food for students during practices and competitions, working at concession stands, and helping with the Sadie Street Showcase. Volunteers are also necessary for mending uniforms and costumes, setting up for events and concerts, and donating baked goods. The organization needs and appreciates your support in any way possible!
The music boosters meet monthly from August through June. Meeting times will be posted on the school district’s monthly calendars and the Anamosa Music Boosters’ Facebook page. If you would like to receive direct communication from the music boosters, request more information about the music boosters, or would like to get involved, please email Anamosa Music Boosters: anamosamusicboosters@gmail.com
