Since the start of the pandemic Anamosa Community School District’s Nutritional Services
Department has been proud to serve ALL students breakfast and lunch at no cost regardless of
family income.
On March 10, 2022 Congress passed a bill that does not include the pandemic nutritional
waivers that we have relied on for the last two years. As a result, the Nutritional Services
Department will need to determine eligibility for student meals as free, reduced or full pay for
the school year 2022-2023. Free or reduced-price meals are available to students based on
household size and income. Some students are automatically eligible for free meals if the
family receives assistance in other programs. Students that do not qualify for free or reduced
priced meals will pay full price for their meals in SY 2022-23.
We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to submit a Meal Application. Completing an
application takes less than 10 minutes, and parents only need to complete one application per
school year. Families may apply or reapply anytime during the school year. Sometimes a
family’s financial situation may change, if you have not been eligible in the past but have a
decrease in household income, become unemployed or have an increase in household size you
may qualify. Every eligible form counts! Every eligible form that is not submitted means lost
resources for our schools.
Free or Reduced Applications for school year 2022-2023 will be available after July 1st on the
school website.
