Last Day of School for 2016-2017 School Year

Friday May 26th

The Anamosa School District Board of Directors has voted to make-up both snow days we had this winter.   The last day of school for students in the Anamosa Community School District will be  Friday, May 26 .  There will be a full day of school on  Thursday, May 25  and on  Friday, May 26  we will run a  three hour early dismissal .  Lunch will be served on both  Thursday . . .

Each summer, children wait for the last bell of the school year.  Summer is an exciting time for children to enjoy playtime with friends, a week at camp, a family vacation, time at the pool, summer sports, and driver’s education.  Just as learning doesn’t end when school lets out, neither does a child’s need for good nutrition.   Anamosa Community School District provides free meals to children . . .

AMS Battle of the Books Winning Teams!

Ready, Set, Rumble - about books! On May 5th at AMS the final three teams in 7/8 and 5/6 showed their knowledge of books on the Iowa Teen and Children's Choice Award for 2016-17 until their was just one winner in 7/8 and one in 5/6. The winning team for 7/8 was The Olympians and the winning team for 5/6 was the T.E.C.K.K.S.    Students were able to sign up as teams at the beginning of the school year to divide and . . .

Kaci at Iowa Youth Institute

Kaci Ginn participates in the World Food Prize Iowa Youth Institute

Kaci Ginn, junior at Anamosa High School, participated Monday, April 24 th , 2017 in the Iowa Youth Institute held at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. To qualify she composed a research paper and proposal on water and sanitation in Haiti. Inspired by her experience with Mission Starfish during a trip to Haiti (organized through Interact Club in the summer of 2016), Kaci further explored the challenges faced by the students at the Mission . . .
