Dear Strawberry Hill Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! We are excited to see you all return to another fun year of learning. Our teachers have been busy preparing their rooms and getting ready for the year.
We are excited to see all of our students for our Open House on Monday, August 23rd, from 4:30-6:00 pm. With increased concerns with COVID, we ask that you limit your time and family members at this year’s open house. When you arrive, we will direct you to your child’s entrance door. If your child is in K-1st, they will use their classroom doors behind the school to enter and exit. If your child is in 2nd-4th grades, we ask that you use the Lower D doors nearest the gymnasium/parking lot. We support all staff, students, and educational partners in their choice around mask-wearing.
Our first day of school will begin on August 24th. Drop off begins at 8:10 am. Our instructional day begins at 8:20 am. PK-1st graders will be dropped off on the west side and enter their classroom doors west and north of the school near playground A (refer to the Drop-off map). All 2nd-4th graders will enter the north doors of the school near playground B/large parking lot (refer to the Drop-off map). We will be leaving the south side/front of the building open for busses.
Breakfast will be free to all students again this year and served in the classrooms upon arrival. Free meals are an excellent opportunity for our students. Lunch will be free and served in the lunchroom by grade level to minimize our risk of COVID.
Our school day ends at 3:15 pm, with the dismissal of walkers and car riders. We ask that all parents pick up on the south and west side of our school promptly as this area is for only busses by 3:23 pm (refer to the Pick-up map). *If your child is riding the bus, they will be required to wear a mask while on the bus per federal mandate.
This year will look a little different than last year regarding our safety efforts from Covid-19. We support all staff, students, and visitors in their choice around mask-wearing. We will continue our cleaning efforts and handwashing practices throughout the day. We ask that students bring a water bottle left at school to refill at our bottle filling station. Drinking fountains will be off for safety reasons. We will not be allowing visitors at this time due to our unvaccinated population and risks. We will keep you all informed of changes as the year unfolds. If you have questions regarding our mitigation plans, please contact the school.
