PaperCut Questions
Question:
Can you please explain the current PaperCut license arrangement?
Answer:
Anamosa is currently licensed for 13 devices. Renewal date is September 30, 2022. Current vendor is TBS Inc. Anamosa prefers to maintain this PaperCut relationship. ITS currently integrates user codes for Anamosa Schools and provides the add/change support for the PaperCut users. Anamosa does not foresee adding additional printers into the PaperCut environment.
(Please note any additional costs to add your printers to a PaperCut solution if they do not natively support an embedded solution)
Question:
Is Anamosa aware that there may be a fee to integrate printers that are non-Toshiba (transfer PaperCut setup to a different brand of MFP)?
Answer:
Yes, Anamosa received pricing from TBS on this.
Question:
Is PaperCut currently utilized on the smaller HP units?
Answer:
No
Question:
Does PaperCut need to integrate with any specific systems?
Answer:
PaperCut needs to integrate with ActiveDirectory. PIN codes are stored in the pager field in Active Directory.
Chromebooks currently use a “followme” print service via PaperCut Mobility Print. Macs are not currently using Mobility Print.
Question:
Is PaperCut currently installed on your print server? Any interests in moving to the Cloud?
Answer:
PaperCut is currently installed on the print server. Version needs updated. Anamosa will work with TBS on this, and discuss Cloud options with TBS. Print Server is on a virtual server environment. Currently running 2012 R2 and easily upgradable. One print server for the entire District.
Question:
Does Anamosa plan to use proximity cards to release print jobs?
Answer:
Anamosa is currently using only pin codes with no plans to add proximity card functions.
