TREASURER
Purpose: To provide for the appointment and outline the duties of Treasurer.
Policy: The Board shall appoint a Treasurer. The Treasurer shall take the oath of office within 10 days following appointment. The Treasurer may be another employee of the District including the Board Secretary. The Treasurer shall give bond to the school corporation in the amount set by the Board.
The Treasurer shall oversee the investment portfolio, receive funds of the District, pay out the funds for expenses approved by the Board, maintain accurate accounting records for each fund and file required reports with the appropriate state agencies and other entities. The Treasurer shall coordinate the financial records, the financial reports, the cash flow needs and the investment portfolio of the District.
If the Treasurer is unable to carry out the duties required, the Superintendent shall carry out the duties of the Treasurer.
