Code No.: 404.6
LICENSED EMPLOYEES – LICENSES
Purpose: To provide consistency in licensing issues for licensed employees.
Policy: All licensed employees must possess the proper state and/or federal license or certificate for their assigned positions. A staff member who possesses only a conditional license shall submit a plan, not to exceed two years in duration; to the Superintendent that outlines the schedule and timeline for the staff member to obtain full certification for his/her assigned position. The District will not pay the application or renewal fees for employees’ licenses or certificates.
The District may pay for a license or certificate if the employee has been re-assigned to a new position by the District and the employee needs a new or different license/certificate in order to fulfill the requirements for the new position. Payment for the license or certificate is at the discretion of the Superintendent. In such circumstances, the Superintendent has the discretion to extend the two year time frame for the employee to obtain full certification.
The superintendent shall annually report to the Board on the progress of staff members with conditional licenses toward full certification.
