Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year from the Anamosa Music Boosters!
The mission of the Anamosa Music Boosters is to support and enrich the music education experience for students in the Anamosa Community School District by encouraging excellence in music arts through leadership, collaboration, financial support and technical assistance.
If you like music, you are a music booster.
You do not have to come to meetings to be a music booster. You do not have to have a child or grandchild in music. You do not have to apply or pay to be a booster. All you have to do is want to support music in Anamosa.
The music boosters give students the opportunity to participate in music programs and expand their talents, education and appreciation. This is accomplished throughout the year with the financial support and direct assistance from the boosters.
Over the years, music boosters have provided funds for marching band uniforms, a sound system in the gym, band instruments including a tuba and new percussion, the auditorium, color guard items, marching drill expenses, choir robes, show choir costumes, music, choreography and risers as well as many other needs.
Last year, the boosters donated a Yamaha conservatory grand piano with a disclavier system to the Ellen Kennedy Fine Arts Center stage. This grand instrument will provide years of pleasure to our students, parents and community members.
Boosters currently raise funds through concessions and special events. Special events this year will include our second annual show choir competition and, later in the spring, Sounds and Sweets.
Music boosters provide assistance to directors such as chaperoning and providing food and other needed items during out-of-town competitions, mending marching band uniforms and costumes, and volunteering for other events such as honor band and choir.
Please share your time and talents by getting active in the Anamosa Music Boosters.
The music boosters meet once a month from August through June. Watch for an email from the music directors announcing dates of meetings. Meetings typically begin at 7 p.m., last 1 hour and 15 minutes and are held in the AHS library.
