Regular Meeting

The Anamosa Board of Education met in regular session on April 5, 2010, at 7:00 P.M., in the

high school library with President Tiedt presiding.Members present: Bieber, Riniker, Darrow,

Sellnau, McKean and Crump.

 

A public hearing was held at this time regarding the 2010-2011 certified budget.Hearing no

comments from those in attendance the hearing was closed at 7:01 P.M. by President Tiedt.

 

A public hearing was held at this time to answer any questions individuals might have about

the proposed FY2010 budget amendment.No one present spoke to the matter, so the hearing

was closed at 7:02 P.M. by President Tiedt.

 

Motion by Riniker, seconded by Sellnau to approve the agenda, as amended(closed session

personnel matter was resolved).Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by McKean, seconded by Sellnau to approve the consent agenda(personnel appointments/

adjustments), as submitted.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by McKean to approve 2010-11PPELprojects, as submitted.

Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump to approve 2010-11 budget recommendations and direct

Superintendent Monroe to deliver notices to staff following legal guidelines for reduction in

force notifications.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by McKean, seconded by Bieber to approve the 2010-11 certified budget, as submitted.

Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Bieber, seconded by Sellnau to approve the FY 2010 budget amendment, as

presented.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Riniker to increase the depository limits at F&M Bank and

Exchange State Bank to $2,500,000 and name Security State Bank and Exchange State Bank

approved depositories for the Districtís general and schoolhouse funds, as well as the funds

previously approved on 9/24/09.In addition, Citizens Savings Bank depository limit will be in-

creased by $500,000 to $3,000,000 for investment purposes.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Sellnau, seconded by McKean to freeze the Protector 500 health insurance plan and

begin offering the Copay 1500 plan.Motion carried 7-0.

 


Motion by Riniker, seconded by Sellnau to approve the Memorandum of Agreement between

Anamosa Community Schools and Junior Achievement.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump to approve student teaching/field experience agreements

with Mt. Mercy College and UNI.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Riniker to approve an out of state trip request to the National

Archery Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky from May 6 - 8, 2010.Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Crump, seconded by Bieber to adjourn at 8:33 P.M.Motion carried 7-0.
