Regular Meeting

March 15, 2010

 

 

 

The Anamosa Board of Education met in regular session on March 15, 2010, at 7:00 P.M., in the

high school library with President Tiedt presiding.  Members present: Bieber, Riniker, Darrow,

Sellnau, McKean and Crump.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Bieber to adopt the agenda, as printed.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by McKean to approve the consent agenda(minutes dated 2/1, 2/15

and 3/1, claims, financial reports and personnel appointments/adjustments), as submitted. 

Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump to approve a 28E Agreement between Anamosa

Community Schools and Olin Consolidated Schools for the purpose of sharing a Transportation

Director effective July 1, 2010.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by McKean, seconded by Darrow to approve an Early Start for the 2010-11 school year

effective August 25, 2010.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump to set the public hearing for the 2010-11 Certified

Budget for Monday, April 5, 2010 at 7:05 P.M., in the high school library.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Riniker, seconded by McKean to set the public hearing for the FY2010 budget amendment for Monday, April 5, 2010 at 7:10 P.M., in the high school library.  Motion carried

7-0.

 

Motion by Crump, seconded by Sellnau to accept the audit report from Hunt, Kain and

Associates for the year ending June 30, 2009.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Riniker to approve a request from the City of Anamosa for a

waiver on construction near the baseball field and the city water treatment plant.  Motion carried

7-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Sellnau to go into closed session, at 9:00 P.M., as provided in

section 21.5(1)(c), Code of Iowa, of the open meetings law to discuss strategy with counsel in

matters where litigation is imminent and where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or

disadvantage the position of this school district in that litigation.  Anamosa Community Schools

vs. City of Anamosa.

 

Motion by Crump, seconded by Bieber to come out of closed session and immediately adjourn

at 9:47 P.M.  Motion carried 7-0.
