Regular Meeting

November 15, 2010

 

 

 

The Anamosa Board of Education met in regular session on November 15, 2010, at 7:00 P.M.,

in the high school library with President Tiedt presiding.  Members present: Kilburg, McKean,

Crump, Darrow and Riniker.  Director Sellnau was absent.  Also in attendance were student

council representatives, Lexi Moore and Emily Oldham.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump to adopt the agenda, as printed.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

A public hearing was held regarding plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost

for the Anamosa Middle School project.  Hearing no comments or questions from anyone in

attendance, a motion was made by Director McKean and seconded by Director Riniker to close

the hearing at 7:05 P.M.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Riniker, seconded by Crump to approve the consent agenda(minutes dated 10/18,

10/25 and 11/1, claims and financial reports, personnel appointments/adjustments), as submitted.

Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Kilburg to approve the plans, specifications, form of contract

and estimated cost for the new middle school.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Crump authorizing personnel to prepare an advertisement to bid

on the Middle School project.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by McKean, seconded by Riniker to approve a bid of $8,000,  from Barker-Lemar Geo-

thermal Services, to perform conductivity testing at the new Middle School site.  Motion carried

6-0.

 

Motion by Darrow, seconded by Riniker to approve April 26th as an additional Professional

Development Day.  This date had previously been a designated snow make-up day.  Motion

carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Crump, seconded by Kilburg to approve a trip to France June 6 - 20, 2012 for AHS

French students that meet the criteria , as presented.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Crump, seconded by Riniker to approve a short-term lease to allow Sprint to install

and maintain a portable Cell on Wheels on Anamosa High School grounds for up to four

months at a lease rate of $500 per month.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion by Kilburg, seconded by Crump to approve the addition of a housekeeping employee up

to 50% time at the high school through spring break.  Motion carried 6-0.


Motion by Riniker, seconded by Crump to adjourn at 8:38 P.M.  Motion carried 6-0.
