At the March 21 school board meeting, the school board voted to have students make-up 1 day of instruction and to have staff (teachers/nurses, secretaries, para-educators, food service and bus d rivers) make up the additional 1.5 days for the total of 2.5 days that were missed. School will be in session for students on Friday, May 27th. Teachers will work on May 31st, June 1st and part of June 2nd. Other staff . . .

On Friday, May 6th, the District celebrated our Retiree and our Service Award Employees. Len Weaver is retireing after 11 years in the District. Len is originally from the Dayton, Ohio area and has two children and 7 grandchildren. Before beginning his teaching career, Len worked for 27 years with Cargill, doing many different things. Len also taught 3 years in Olin before comng to Anamosa. Len has many favorite memories of Anamosa. . . .
While we rely upon our Bus Drivers to transport our children to and from school in a safe manner, it is also very important for those driving a vehicle to obey the red lights and stop signs on the school buses. It is not uncommon for our drivers to have one or more vehicles each week run through these stop signs. Not only does this endanger the lives of our students but the driver of the vehicle could sustain a large fine. . . .
