Student Make-Up Day

At the March 21 school board meeting, the school board voted to have students make-up 1 day of instruction and to have staff (teachers/nurses, secretaries, para-educators, food service and bus d rivers) make up the additional 1.5 days for the total of 2.5 days that were missed. School will be in session for students on Friday, May 27th. Teachers will work on May 31st, June 1st and part of June 2nd. Other staff . . .

Anamosa Archers Win 1st and 2nd at National Tournament last weekend in Louisville, KY

Three of the four top prep archers in the nation hail from two Eastern Iowa towns separated by just 17 miles. “It’s pretty amazing when you think about it,” said David Machart, the 18-year-old Anamosa High School senior who scored 299 out of 300 to win the high school division and first place overall in the bull’s-eye competition at the National Archery in the Schools Program national tournament last weekend . . .

Retiree Recognition and Service Awards

On Friday, May 6th, the District celebrated our Retiree and our Service Award Employees. Len Weaver is retireing after 11 years in the District. Len is originally from the Dayton, Ohio area and has two children and 7 grandchildren. Before beginning his teaching career, Len worked for 27 years with Cargill, doing many different things. Len also taught 3 years in Olin before comng to Anamosa. Len has many favorite memories of Anamosa. . . .
