Welcome Staff, Students & Parents!
Open House Aug. 24th, 5:30-7:00pm
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians, and Members of the Community:
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I am excited to welcome you to another exciting year at Anamosa High School. The start of a new school year gives you the opportunity to set goals, plan a road map for future success and to reflect on the successes you have had so far. Construction and remodeling projects have been completed and students have been enjoying our new commons, auditorium, classroom spaces and ball fields. This year at AHS we are also welcoming interactive projectors in every classroom and a new alternative school on site to allow more opportunities for our students. We are transitioning from Power School to Infinite Campus as our student management system.
There are new faces at AHS this year. Mr. Jones and I are pleased to welcome the following teachers as new members of the AHS family. Caleb Huss-Math, Andrew Grove-Vocal Music, Caleb Haselhuhn-Band, Christine Morrison-Reading/English, Dawn Shannahan-REVIVE and Caroline Kipp-Sutliff-Science. Although they are not new faces, we also welcome Darci Wagner-Instructional Coach, Kylie Ruess-REVIVE, Karmen Keltner-Spanish, Eric Schulz-Social Studies and Shelley Watson-Para Educator. On behalf of Mr. Jones and myself we are excited to have you here.
My goal for each and every student at Anamosa is to get involved! Be an active participant in your education and in your school. We trust that you will take advantage of the many academic and co-curricular opportunities that we provide and that each of you will make a commitment to the ongoing excellence of our school and its programs. Always remember we are here for you and we will not give up on you! Never hesitate to ask any question and never hesitate to offer any suggestion about how to improve your school or the education you are receiving. As much as anyone else, you make Anamosa the school it is.
Anamosa High School is a great place to be. We have elevated our expectations so excellence will become the norm. The students of Anamosa deserve to excel both inside and outside of the classroom. The tools are here, the staff is in place. Let’s make it happen! Let’s be proud of our school, students, and community. I am proud of all of you for accepting this challenge. I wish you the very best in the coming year.
IT’S A GREAT TIME TO BE A RAIDER!
