Junior Scholarship

Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship

Every year we award one Male and one Female for our Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship. Brian Pearson was a former Iowa State University Basketball player who died of brain cancer in the fall of 1997. Iowa Games began awarding the BPMS in 1998. The intent of the Scholarship is to recognize three individuals every year: two outstanding athletes involved with the Iowa Games (one male and one female), and through that process, Brian Pearson. One $1,000 scholarship annually will be awarded to one male and one female Iowan. Throughout the selection process, the degree of participation in the Iowa Games will be given consideration, as well as the applicant’s display of character. Citizenship, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, perseverance and sportsmanship are just a few of the values on which this award is based.    Brian Pearson Memorial Application

All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship

The All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship is a state-funded program that provides scholarships to students who do well in high school and demonstrate financial need.  Priority for awards will be given to students who participate in the Federal TRIO Programs while in high school, to applicants who graduate from alternative high schools or alternative high school programs, and to homeless youth.  Applications are on-line at: www.iowacollegeaid.gov

The American Legion of Iowa – Second District Merit Award

 The Second District of The American Legion of Iowa will be awarding three Merit Awards of $300.00 each.  The applicant must be a graduating senior who resides within the counties of Jones, Linn, Jackson, Scott, Clinton or Dubuque. It is not necessary to be related to a member of The American Legion or The American Legion Auxiliary. Deadline: March 25, 2016           Merit Award Application

Anamosa Athletic Booster Scholarship

Any senior at the Anamosa High School who has participated through athletics while in high school and is intending to further his/her education at a technical school, a two-year college, or a four-year college/university is eligible to apply.  Deadline: Early May  Anamosa Booster Application

Anamosa EAGLES Scholarship

The local EAGLES group will award $500 scholarships. Applications are available in the guidance office.

Anamosa Education Association Scholarship

Senior applicant must pursue degree in teaching. Application in the guidance office.   Deadline: Early May  Application :  Anamosa Edu. Association Application

Anamosa Masonic Scholarship  

Scholarship may be used at any accredited two or four year college. School and community service and evidence of potential leadership will be given most weight in selecting the recipient. Application :   Anamosa Masonic Application

Anamosa Progressive Business Women's Scholarship  

A graduating senior who plans to continue her/his education beyond the high school level.Deadline: Early May.  Anamosa Business Scholarship

Anamosa Rotary Scholarship

The Anamosa Rotary Club awards one scholarship to a senior. As Rotary is a service club, emphasis will be place primarily on community service, as well as academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. Any senior who intends to further his/her education at any accredited institution of higher learning. Priority will be given to Interact Club members. Sons or daughters of Rotary members are not eligible.   Deadline: May 1st    Anamosa Rotary Application

Anamosa Women's Club Scholarship

Ann Griffel Scholarship

ASHRAE Scholarship

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers, Inc., offer a scholarship to students interested in the heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, (HVAC) and refrigeration career field.  

Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship

We are offering high school seniors the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship.  This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Aspiring Business Professional Scholarship

Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship

Athnet Sports

As an organization committed to helping student athletes use sports to further their education, we are proud to be able to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a current or future college student who plays, or has played high school or college sports.   The Athnet Scholarship committee will award the scholarship to the student whose essay best demonstrates how the lessons they learned through sport have positively impacted them as they pursue their college education.  Application Deadline: June 1st   http://www.athleticscholarships.net/scholarship-contest.htm


Arthur McCullough Post 13 Scholarship

Legionnaires of Anamosa award one $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to further their education at a college, university or trade school.  Applicants need not be related to a member of The American Legion. This scholarship was established in memory of the late Howard M. Remley, a lifelong Anamosa resident who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and continued his service to the community, state and nation as a member of The American Legion for over 57 continuous years.

Better Business Bureau

Bright Scholars of Iowa

Provides a full ride scholarship to one of the three regent schools in Iowa.  Also tuition & books at DEMACC or Indian Hills CC.  This scholarship is based on financial need.   See website for qualifications.  http://www.brightscholarsofiowa.org

Buena Vista University

The University has "redesigned" their financial awards for incoming students.  The scholarships have increased in amounts and they have added grants.  Check out their information at www.bvu.edu.

Burkart Scholarship 

The scholarship is selected on the basis of student interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, then on academic ability and financial need.  Applications are available at:   www.iowapga.com

Christina Hixson Award

The Hixson Opportunity Award is a grant of $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years) to be used at Iowa State University.  Applications are available at: www.hixson.dso.iastate.edu   Deadline is Janurary 15, 2017

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

Scholars are selected based upon academic achievement, capacity to lead, and hours of dedicated community service.  Deadline is October 31.  To apply access online at www.coca-colascholars.org

Conclave Scholarship

Founded in 1976, the Conclave is a 501(c)3 non-profit radio education organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The scholarships are for radio/TV broadcasting or the music industry.  More information and applications are on the web at:   www.radioscholarships.com

Darryl Jahn Memorial Scholarship

The alumni of Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran fraternity will be awarding two scholarships to Lutheran gentlemen entering Iowa State University in the fall.  Applicants will be evaluated on their scholastic achievement and active participation in their communities and churches. Erin Buck FFA Scholaarship

Grand Lodge of Iowa, A.F & A.M. Masonic Scholarship

Applicants need not have a Masonic connection, nor do race, creed, religion, color, sex, or national origin have any bearing in the selection process.  Recipients are selected after completing a comprehensive written application and an in-depth personal interview.    Application

Governor Terry Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship  

This scholarship, named after former Governor Branstad, recognizes outstanding Iowa high school seniors who have actively participated in the Iowa State Fair.  Applications are available online at www.iowacollegeaid.gov.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Up to $5,000 per semester. Each scholarship is renewable for www.hsfmo.org   Application due date is Early November.

Health Care Professions Scholarship 

$1000 Awarded Annually by All50Medical.com  $1000 awarded annually to students interested in pursing a career in any health care related profession and currently accepted or enrollee in any college program.  View Scholarship Application

Healthcare Leaders Scholarship 
Based in Bellevue, WA, Nurse.org is seeking applications for the Healthcare Leaders Scholarship. To be eligible for the $1000 award, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, be pursuing a degree related to healthcare, and submit a 600-1000 word essay by January 29th. Helen English RN Healthcare Career Scholarship

Hills Bank and Trust Company- JUNIORS this one is for you

Hills Bank and Trust and the Iowa 4-H Foundation offer this leadership scholarship to juniors who have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher and demonstrate leadership, entrepreneurship, or other qualities related to community service.  Application materials are online at:  www.extension.iastate.edu/4H/grants.html

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education

Iowa Women in Natural Resources

Iowa Women in Natural Resources (IWINR) encourages young adults to pursue careers in the natural resources fields,which include jobs in wildlife, fisheries, and environmental management; forest resources; nongame specialists; environmental education; conservation law enforcement; and various related fields.  Application

Izaak Walton League Scholarship

Scholarship is awarded to deserving graduates who will be going on to further their education in any one of the following areas: biology, forestry, conservation, wildlife management, environment protection, and land stewardship. Application in the guidance office.  Deadline: Early May

James B. Morris Scholarship Fund (MSF)

John Chesire Aviation Scholarship

John R. Chesire is an Anamosa High School alumni, class of 1964.  He has spent four decades in aviation, first as a United States Naval aviator and combat pilot, then later as a commercial airline pilot.  This scholarship for an Anamosa graduating senior will be in the amount of 1,000.00.  It is to be used to attend an accredited post-secondary program the school year immediately following graduation.  Applicants for this scholarship must write about their interest in aviation.  Application                                     

Jones County Cattlemen's Scholarship

One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to an outstanding student who is pursuing a career in agriculture.  Fields of study may include: ag education, communications, production, research, or any other area involved with the agricultural industry.  

Jones County Community Foundation Scholarship 

The Jones County Community Foundation is offering two $1000 scholarships at each high school in Jones County. These scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have demonstrated ‘community service’ in Jones County and are not based on scholastic performance. Jones County Dairy Promotion Scholarship

The Jones County Dairy Promotion Scholarship is for the purpose of assisting a graduating senior pursuing a post­secondary agriculture­related​education in an accredited institution. The recipient(s) must be a graduating senior from a Jones County school district. To qualify for the Jones County Dairy Promotion Scholarship, the student must: 1. Complete a Jones County Dairy Promotion Scholarship application  2. Jones County Master Gardeners

Jones County Master Gardeners are sponsoring a scholarship of $200.00 for a Jones County high school senior enrolling in an accredited horticulture-related college program such as forestry, turfgrass management, nursery/landscaping operations, parks and natural resources, floriculture, entomology, botany, or other related majors.  March 1st Deadline    Application

Jones Regional Auxiliary Scholarship

The Jones Regional Medical Center Auxiliary offers a $500 scholarship in each high school in Jones County. The applicant must pursue degree in a health-related field.  Application in the guidance office.        Jones Regional Application

Keep Iowa Beautiful

The family of Robert E. Byers has established a scholarship through the Keep Iowa Beautiful Foundation for students enrolling in an Iowa college or university.  The student must be pursuing studies in the environment, community services, conservation, public service or government, nonprofit management, landscape architecture, or community planning.  Application is available online at:  www.keepiowabeautiful.com.  Deadline is February 8, 2017.

Kirkwood - Leaders for Tomorrow Scholarship

The Leaders for Tomorrow Scholarship is for Iowa high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher (at the time of the application deadline)who are in the top half of their class. Up to 60 scholarships or $1,000 are awards to seniors who will be full-time Kirkwood students in the fall following high school graduation and can demonstrate strong leadership qualities. This scholarship is awarded during students' freshman year. At least one community and two high school leadership experiences are required during the junior and/or senior years of high school. Awarded: $1,000 for fall, $1,000 for spring. Kirkwood - Presidential Scholarship 

Iowa high school seniors who have ACT test scores of 25 or higher and 3.5 GPAs or higher are eligible for Presidential Scholarships. Up to 30 scholarships for $5,000 each are available to students who meet this criteria and who will be full-time Kirkwood students in the fall and spring following their high school graduations. This scholarship is awarded during students' freshman year. Awarded: $2,500 for fall, $2,500 for spring.  Applications available and check web site: www.kirkwood.edu/financialaid

Lewis A. Helphand Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the family of Lewis A. Helphand. Mr. Helphand was born and educated in Anamosa. The son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, he worked his way through school and moved to Chicago to work as a CPA. Throughout his life he never forgot his hometown, the value of education, and the value and rewards of honesty, decency, and hard work. In determining eligibility, the recipient shall have demonstrated a dedication to hard work, academic achievement, and financial need.   Deadline: May 1      Lewis Helphand Application

Linn County Farm Bureau

Matthew Shepard Scholarship 

Applicants should have a high school GPA of 3.0 or better, an ACT score of 22 or better, demonstrate LGBT activism and community service and a history of high moral and ethical standards and conduct.  Apply online at www.eychanerfoundation.org

MCEC Technical Sholarship

The Grand lodge of Iowa, A.F & A.M., "Mark Earl & Ester Ruth Spencer Technical Scholarship".  Scholarship will be awarded to a number of graduationg Iowa high school seniors who plan to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of studey at an accreditied Iowa Community College.   Application

Media Communications

Media Communications is offering 60 $1,000 scholarships through its World Class Scholarship Program to senior high students of the 21 states where it provides service for cable, internet, and telephone.  While it is not required that the student be a Mediacom customer, applicants must live in areas serviced by Mediacom.  A list of towns they service are included on the application.  www.mediacomworldclass.com.  Deadline is February 17, 2017 

Mensa Foundation's college scholarship

The Foundation's college scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by the applicants. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need. U.S. applicants need not be Mensa members. Nile C. Kinnick Scholarship

Now in its 20th year, the Nile C. Kinnick scholarship aims to reward men with outstanding high school careers entering their first year at the University of Iowa. The scholarship is named for Nile Kinnick, Iowa’s lone Heisman trophy winner and a brother of Phi Kappa Psi. Nile was known as a well rounded individual and this is who the scholarship is intended to reward. Northeast Iowa Community College

NICC is again awarding three Academic $1,500, three Leadership $1,000, three Opportunity $1,000, and one Board of Trustees $1,000 scholarships. Applications are available online at:  www.nicc.edu/scholarships 

Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship

The trust was established under the Last Will and Testament of Mrs. Pearl Falk to provide annual scholarships to needy and worthy students attending the University of Iowa. Each recipient must be of the Protestant faith, a resident of the State of Iowa, and a full-time student at the University of Iowa. Application deadline if May 1st.     Pearl Hull Falk Application

River Valley Cooperative

Students pursuing two or four year degree in an agricultural related field of study.  The scholarship is available to high school seniors, graduating in 2014, or college students already majoring in an agricultural field.       River Valley Scholarship Application

Robert D. Blue Scholarship

Any Iowa student who plans to attend an Iowa college or university is eligible for this award.  Applicants are expected to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display and moral force of character. Rondald McDonald House Charities

As education costs rise, college may seem out of reach. But there is HOPE with the help of  Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa  & Western Illinois. Ross Brainard Scholarship

Class of 1972 Graduate Ross Brainard has established a new scholarship.  He has established a $5,000 scholarship, which can be renewed each year through college if honor grades are maintained each semester.  Students must be on the honor roll, ACT tested, and have financial need. Deadline of May 1st.  Ross Brainard Application

Ruth E. Jump Scholarship

Salon Professional Academy

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award

UnityPoint Health Scholar Athlete

World Class Mediacom Scholarship
