Classified Employee Letter of Employment
Purpose: To provide guidelines for issuance and continuation of letters of employment for classified personnel.
Policy: The board may enter into a Letter of Employment with classified employees employed on a regular basis. The Letter of Employment will state the terms of employment.
Each contract will include a 15 day cancellation clause. Either the employee or the board must give notice of the intent to cancel the contract at the end of 15 days. This notice will not be required when the employee is terminated during a probationary period or for cause.
It is the responsibility of the superintendent to draw up and process the classified employee Letter of Employment and present them to the board for approval. [The Letters of Employment, after being signed by the board president, are filed in the Business Office.]
The requirements stated in the contract between classified employees in the bargaining unit and the board regarding Letters of Employment of such employees will be followed.
