ASSIGNMENT AND TRANSFER: CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL
Purpose: To provide guidelines for the assignment and transfer of classified personnel.
Policy: All assignments, reassignments and transfers, whether they are requested by the employee or initiated by the Administration, shall be made in accordance with the applicable terms of the negotiated master contract. However, the Board has the primary legal responsibility for providing the District’s educational program; therefore, the Board has the sole discretion of assigning and transferring employees, within the procedures of the current master contract.
Changes in assignment may be initiated by an employee submitting a request to his/her immediate supervisor or by the immediate supervisor initiating the request. Final action of reassignment shall be taken only after approval has been given by the Superintendent.
Assignment and transfer for secretary’s and paraeducator’s will follow the guidelines outlined in the Master Contract for the Secretary/Paraeducator Association.
