The Anamosa Music Boosters are proud to present The Chamber Singers of Chorale Midwest this Sunday December 10 at 5:30 pm in the Ellen Kennedy Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
The Chorale Midwest is a premier volunteer chorus comprised of eighty auditioned singers from a variety of educational and musical backgrounds. They take pride in performing challenging and diverse choral works from multiple musical genres. The organization was founded in 1996 by a group of passionate singers who wanted to master and perform choral works, and also create a welcoming community of musicians in the Cedar Rapids area. The Chorale has worked under the artistic direction of Dr. Bradley T. Barrett since 2003. In recent years, the Chorale has added three smaller performance groups: The Chamber Singers, the Pro Musical Women’s Ensemble and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
Before the concert, the Anamosa Music Boosters would like to invite you to a dessert social in the Auditorium lobby beginning at 5:00 pm. Dessert will be included with the price of admission ($10 for adults, students are free), and concert goers will be entertained with Christmas chamber music performed by members of the AHS Band.
The concert itself will begin with a performance of Christmas carols by the AHS Chamber Choir followed by the Chamber Singers’ exciting program of both traditional and non-traditional holiday music. Caleb Haselhuhn, director of bands at AHS, performs in the group and will be featured in a solo performance between the choirs.
We hope that you will take time out of your busy holiday schedules to enjoy a phenomenal concert and help benefit the music students in our community.
